Private lessons, masterclasses, adjudication, chamber coaching, reed making, and home studio recording. Whatever you need — reach out and we'll figure out the right fit.
One-on-one oboe and English horn instruction built around your goals and where you are right now. Whether you're preparing for a high-stakes audition, working through a plateau, or want a fresh perspective on your playing, sessions are focused and flexible.
I work well with advanced high school, college, and professional players. Because I travel frequently for performances, I'm not typically available for weekly in-person lessons — but I'm happy to work with you on a regular or as-needed basis, online or in person.
Sessions can be tailored to almost anything: orchestral excerpt work, technique and tone development, All-State and honor band preparation, recital and jury coaching, or extra support in the weeks before a big performance.

Available online and in-person in the Philadelphia and Eastern Iowa areas.
I visit studios, schools, and ensembles for masterclasses and double reed clinics tailored to your group's needs. Sessions are musically substantive and engaging at any level — I enjoy working with players who are just finding their footing as much as those on the verge of professional careers.
Clinics can focus on anything from instrument-specific technique and tone to repertoire, reed making, chamber playing, or an open conversation about professional life as an orchestral musician and freelancer.
Available for universities, conservatories, high schools, youth orchestras, and community ensembles. Reach out to discuss details and rates.
Programs and support designed for band directors and high school music programs. I offer double reed clinics and section coaching tailored to your ensemble, plus handmade oboe and English horn reeds for your students.
Clinics can cover reed care and adjustment, tone and technique, All-State and honor band preparation, or sectionals that fit your rehearsal schedule. I can also supply reeds for students who need reliable equipment without the learning curve of making their own.
Available for high school band programs, district clinics, and student reed orders. Reach out to discuss clinic dates and reed needs.
Thoughtful, constructive evaluation for auditions, competitions, and academic assessments. I bring genuine care to every panel I sit on — the goal is always for the performer to leave with something useful, regardless of the result.
I'm available for orchestral and ensemble auditions, honor band and All-State festivals, university juries and degree recitals, and concerto or solo competitions. Written feedback available on request.
Rates vary by event. Reach out to discuss availability.
Coaching for chamber ensembles featuring winds or mixed instrumentation. The best chamber playing happens when everyone is really listening — my sessions focus on the things that make an ensemble feel alive: balance, blend, intonation, and genuine musical communication.
Whether you're preparing a specific program, working through ensemble challenges, or simply want to deepen your group's approach, I can help you get there.
Available for wind quintets, mixed chamber groups, conservatory and university students, and community ensembles.
One-on-one reed-making coaching for oboists at any stage. If you're just starting out, I'll walk you through the whole process from scratch. If you're an experienced maker dealing with inconsistency, struggling with a particular aspect of your scrape, or just want to rebuild your process on a stronger foundation — I can help with that too.
We can work on cane selection and preparation, shape and staple choices, scrape and finishing, adjustment techniques, and building a routine that actually produces reliable reeds. Reed troubleshooting on its own is also an option — bring your problem reeds and we'll figure out what's going wrong.

Need professional oboe or English horn on your project? I record from a treated home studio and deliver clean, well-edited audio stems. Whether you're a composer, an arranger, or a fellow musician looking for a collaborator, I'd love to be part of your project.
I'm comfortable in a wide range of styles and can work from lead sheets, notation, or by ear depending on what the project calls for. I'm also happy to consult on writing for the instrument if you're unsure what's idiomatic or playable.
Past projects have included contemporary classical works, film and media scoring, album and demo recordings, and oboe/English horn doubling tracks.
Rates vary by project scope and turnaround. Reach out with your project details.
